We operate all over the uk at public and private events and we are engaged by local authorities, business improvement districts, event organisers, commercial businesses and private individuals

There are of course many issues concerned with the planning & operation of a Land Train, not limited to but including, the planning of a route to maximise the Land Trains efficiency and ease of use and of course maximise its revenue, the acquisition of the correct Land Train for that route, the training of operatives & risk assessments, the obtaining of a VSO, if operation on the public highway is required, and the planned maintenance of the Land Train. Our Consultancy service can assist with all of those issues.

If you would like to us to help to progress the consideration of a Land Train operation further, we would suggest that in the first instance we make a Site Visit to discuss a proposed routes etc. 

CONSULTANCY STAGES

STAGE1. Initial Site Visit & Consultation  (One day)
Matters to be discussed and work carried out:

  • UK Land Train guidelines and specification           

  • Vehicle Special Orders and the Department for Transport

  • How, why and where can Land Trains operate

  • Assessment of the proposed route area, including suitability & gradient tests, health & safety issues

  • Agree proposed Land Train route

  • Passenger charges

  • Land Train costs & finance

  • Land Train recommendations and availability

STAGE2. Application for a Vehicle Special Order
 
On your behalf Land Train Hire Nationwide will carry out the following:

  • Consultations with the Local Authority’s Highway's Department & Police in order to get the permissions needed to apply to the VCA office (an executive agency of the Department of Transport) for the Vehicle Special Order.

  • Subject to receipt of the ‘permissions’, make an application to the VCA for your required VSO.

  • We have extensive experience of consulting with Highways Departments and the Police and have an excellent working relationship with the VCA office, however, each application is judged on its own merits.

STAGE3. Implementation of the Land Train Operation
 
First and foremost we will source an appropriate Land Train for your operation
 
We will advise on all the following matters:

  • Purchase of the appropriate Insurances

  • Signage, our design partner can prepare all artwork for both your business and Land Train

  • Land Train Sponsorship

  • Appropriate ‘branded’ Apparel/Workwear for all seasons 

And provide the following:

  • Risk assessments

  • Planned Land Train maintenance

  • On site operational training – 2 days staff training on the operation of your Land Train.
